Untitled
A vertical volume in painted aluminum that opens into red, orange and yellow planes around a central void. Installed in a garden on Margarita Island, at night the raking light ignites its folds and the piece reads as a geometric flame.

— Perán Erminy, art critic
Born in Ocaña, Colombia, in 1955. A self-taught artist, he came to metal sculpture through his work in the metallurgical industry. In 1975 he moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where he became a naturalized citizen and developed most of his artistic career.
His work spans autonomous sculptures, pieces integrated into architecture —reliefs, gates and sculptural railings— and monumental works for urban spaces. He has exhibited in Caracas, Miami, Paris, Geneva, Dallas and Seoul, among other cities.
